ActiveA payments platform that lets African banks and fintechs issue and acquire - cards, wallets, real-time payments, QR and buy-now-pay-later - plus merchant acceptance for SMEs, without them rebuilding core systems.
Payments infrastructure company founded in 2023 by former Network International executives Hany Fekry and Hamish Houston. It sells to African banks and fintechs on both the issuing and acquiring side, connecting them to local card schemes, real-time payment rails and mobile money, and layering on fraud detection and data analytics. Headquartered in Abu Dhabi with regional offices in Egypt, South Africa, Nigeria and Ghana. It holds an Enhanced Payment Service Provider licence from the Bank of Ghana and has a partnership with TerraPay. Raised a $6.75M seed in March 2025 co-led by Algebra Ventures and Quona Capital.
