Merlin Farms grows chemical-free produce, starting with spinach, kale and herbs, alongside fish, using its own aquaponics system that combines aquaculture and hydroponics. It says its method gives about 20 times the yield per square foot of conventional farming. It is also working on climate-controlled agrotunnels and solar-powered desalination with partners at the Sharjah research park.
