Nadeera
ActiveYalla Return - a trash-for-cash recycling system pairing access-controlled neighbourhood smart bins with a consumer app that gives feedback, AI waste recognition and cashback rewards, plus blockchain-secured end-to-end traceability of the collected material.
Waste-management technology social enterprise founded in Lebanon in 2020 by Rabih El Chaar and Reem Khattar, now headquartered in ADGM, Abu Dhabi. Its Yalla Return platform pays residents for sorted recyclables dropped into access-controlled smart bins, backed by a consumer app that identifies whether an item is recyclable, a loyalty marketplace, and patented end-to-end traceability secured by blockchain so material can be tracked from household to recycler. The product line also includes AI-powered reverse vending machines for individual bottles and cans in high-traffic locations, and fill-level sensors that monitor bins around the clock. Deployed across Lebanon, the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with launches alongside Emirates Global Aluminium and PepsiCo, and reported as an ADQ portfolio company. Headcount reported as 12 (The National, 2023), 20 (Entrepreneur ME) and 11-50 on LinkedIn.
