Tarabut (legal entity Tarabut Gateway W.L.L.), founded in 2017 by Abdulla Almoayed and launched publicly in 2019 as 'MENA's first regulated Open Banking platform,' is regulated by the Central Bank of Bahrain as an Account Information Service Provider (AISP) and Payment Initiation Service Provider (PISP). It provides API-based open-finance infrastructure -- credit, payments and data connectivity -- to banks and licensed fintechs, with regulated presence extending into Saudi Arabia (Regulatory Sandbox) and a regional headquarters inaugurated in Riyadh in 2025.
