Terraxy
ActiveCarbosoil, a proprietary biochar-based soil amendment that restructures sandy desert soil to boost water and nutrient retention and plant growth for large-scale desert-greening and carbon-capture projects.
Terraxy is a KAUST spin-out based in Thuwal, Saudi Arabia, founded in 2023 by KAUST professor Himanshu Mishra and his former PhD student Adair Gallo Jr., that develops Carbosoil, a soil-enhancement technology designed to regenerate degraded desert soils in support of the Saudi Green Initiative's 10-billion-tree goal. The company raised a $3 million Seed-2 round in June 2026 led by Wa'ed Ventures (Aramco's venture arm), with participation from KAUST, to fund a new 30,000-square-metre commercial production facility in Al Zulfi.

'US $1 M investment from KAUST Innovation Ventures in Terraxy LLC (2023)'; elsewhere the CV says Terraxy 'raised US $1M investment in 2023-2024'. This is the implicit Seed-1 that the June 2026 'Seed-2' label refers to. Exact date not given.
