Uvera
ActiveAurora, a chemical-free UV shelf-life extension system, plus shelf-life intelligence, blockchain-backed traceability and cold-chain IoT monitoring
Uvera uses chemical-free ultraviolet light to kill the pathogens that spoil fresh produce, extending shelf life. It combines this with traceability and IoT cold-chain analytics. It was founded by KAUST PhD Asrar Damdam and is based at KAUST. It was a finalist in the 2022 Global FoodTech Challenge, and in July 2026 it closed a seed round with Morgan Stanley Inclusive & Sustainable Ventures and Aramco's LAB7.
